and our neighboring counties too! This is our brand new website, and I’m crazy excited about what this could become for all of us.
My name is Shylo and I have two other passions, running the Meals On Wheels program at the Hood County Senior Center, and being the Outreach Pastor at The Bridge Church, so please bear with me as I try to keep up –
Here’s the dream,
- there will be a directory of local farmers and producers so that you can contact them directly throughout the week/month/year without having to wait for Farmers Market days
- as best we can, we’ll keep you posted on Social Media about upcoming local Farmers Markets!
- there will be blog posts featuring these local farmers and ranchers, what makes them special, what they offer and what’s in season!
- there will also be blog posts sharing some great healthy recipes and tips of what to do with those farm fresh goodies, including what makes #fresh #local and #inseason so great.
- the point of Hood County Fresh is to make fresh REAL food accessible to everyone; at the same time, we’re excited to feature local restaurants and Chefs who are supporting local and creating incredible dishes with these super high quality ingredients.
Since Hood County Fresh is about promoting local farmers/ranchers and making great food easily accessible for Hood County residents – we strictly limit the farms & businesses that we promote to those that are a) farms, ranches, producers and b) are within a 30 mile radius of Granbury.
We know there are some amazing farms just outside that radius but we didn’t want to get up into Fort Worth and wanted to keep it local!
